The Challenge

In the highly competitive electrical components field, Edge Electronics was determined to continue to grow their online business. Over time, however, their website had become too slow to keep pace with their competition. Chief among their requirements, Edge needed to add ecommerce functionality to their new site to provide another avenue for generating sales.


The client elected to upgrade from their static HTML website into a custom built AWG ASP.Net Super Engine website. Ease of use for site visitors, especially navigation, were top requisites. Also, enabling site visitors to convert to customers on-site would not only increase user satisfaction but also facilitate Edge’s sales funnel.


Recently launched, the new Edge Electronic’s ecommerce website contains the features their customers require to easily locate what they need and make purchases. The new site is also expected to increase Edge’s key metrics in line with their stated business goals. Highlights of the client’s new ecommerce platform include:

  • A custom-built system which connects to their back-end ERP
  • This feature enables both front and back-end users to see current, real-time inventory.
  • Customers can have their own custom pricing structure based on volume
  • Shopping cart allows a customer to place orders either via Credit Card or on their Edge account.
