If your SEO specialist is focused on rankings, then your specialist will do whatever it takes to get you the desired rankings, even neglect getting your site traffic. You do know that traffic is not guaranteed with any ranking right! The following questions should come to mind if you acquired great rankings but don’t see an increase in traffic.

While I was scrolling through some of the questions on Quora the other day, one question stood out to me amongst the rest, “What should I look for in an SEO consultant?” Personally, I have several years of experience as an SEO specialist. I’ve met SEO consultants and specialists of all walks of life. Some are great and love what they do while other SEO consultants should be avoided at all costs.

Last week, it was JC Penney that Google came down on, for what could only be called “black hat SEO” techniques used on their behalf by a company that this author will no longer be directing your attention to. They can get their own [expletive deleted] press.

A colleague of mine recently stated that he had acquired positions one, two, and three in Google for all his targeted keywords. He didn’t seem as happy as one would expect while I congratulated him. I said “what’s wrong aren’t you excited,” He said “now what!” I said “Just because your number one in Google for all your targeted keywords doesn’t mean the job is over. Your job has just begun!”

The title of any work should define it, and the title of any SEO content needs to include the targeted key word or phrase. Search engine spiders start searching at the beginning of the content, and the key words should be the first thing they find. Remember that the title and tags should be similar but not exact duplications of each other.
